I’m turning 50 soon and decided to treat myself to a great smile makeover. I was thinking porcelain veneers, but my dentist wants to make them from the CEREC machine. I was told that most dentists use a special lab for veneers. Which is better?

Andrea,
While there are good cosmetic dentists who use a CEREC machine for certain things, most would cringe at the idea of using it for a smile makeover.
There’s a really good reason for that. The CEREC machine mills everything from a single block of porcelain. That doesn’t allow for the subtleties that make up your natural teeth. The color on your teeth isn’t uniform, even among a single tooth.
Most artistic cosmetic dentists have very particular labs they like to work with, in order to ensure the best results. Dr. Arnold even has his own lab with a master ceramist.
If I were in your place, ready to invest in a gorgeous smile, I’d want to have the best dentist to do it. Look for someone who is accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). These are the best cosmetic dentists in the country. You will be guaranteed a stunning smile.
